Clifford Gilbert Schryver was born on 5 August
1893.
He was the first child of Frank M.
and Sara Jane Baltz Schryver.
He attended Omar rural schools and began a chicken
farm which he managed until 1940, when he became a carpenter at Pine
Camp. He served as an assessor for the Town of Orleans and was a
poultry dealer, farmer and raw fur trader during his life.
He was a patient for about a week at the House of the
Good Samaritan Hospital in Watertown, when he died on Tuesday, 21 April 1981.
Calling hours were held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Thursday, April 23 at the
Frederick Brothers Funeral Home in LaFargeville and the funeral was held
at 2 PM on Friday, April 24 at the Omar Methodist Church. The
Reverend Robert Nay, pastor, officiated. He is buried in the Omar
Cemetery.

Ruth Mitchell was born in
Ogdensburg on 8
September 1904. She was the daughter of Harrison Edwin and Anna
Stephenson Mitchell.
She attended Ogdensburg Free
Academy and was a 1924 graduate of the Hepburn School of Nursing in
Ogdensburg. She did private duty nursing, home care nursing and
special obstetrical cases. She owned and operated the Schryver
Nursing Home from the early 40's until her retirement in 1962.
Ruth died at the E. J. Noble
Hospital in Alexandria Bay, New York on at 7:50 AM on Wednesday, 8 October 1980.
She had been a patient there since August 13. Her funeral was held
on Saturday, October 11 at the Omar Methodist Church. They are buried
together in the Omar Cemetery.
In addition to their gravestone, there are two small
markers.
