Dewey Everett Schryver was born in Omar, Jefferson
County, New York, on 26 January
1898.
He was the fourth child and third son of Frank M.
and Sara Jane Baltz Schryver.
He graduated from the old Omar School. He and
his wife operated a dairy farm in Omar their entire married life.
In fact, he was active in farming until he was 85 years old.
He was admitted to the E. J. Noble Hospital in
Alexandria Bay, New York on November 23, 1993. He remained there
until his death on December 21. His funeral was held at the Omar
United Methodist Church at 11 AM on Friday, December 24, with the
Reverend Mark Pierce, Pastor, presiding. Dewey is buried in the Omar
Cemetery.

Florence A. Payne was born
in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New York, on 8
November 1906, a daughter of Frank and Pearl Manning Payne.
The family moved to Clayton,
Jefferson County, when she was young. She was graduated from the
Clayton High School and then the Potsdam Normal School. She was a
first grade teacher in Clayton for a few years and then taught grades
1-6 in Clayton rural schools.
She was admitted to the E.
J. Noble Hospital in Alexandria Bay, on November 17, 1993 where she
remained until her death on Tuesday, November 30, 1993. She
was 87. Her obituary appeared in the Watertown Daily Times on
Thursday, December 2. Her funeral was held at 11 PM on Friday,
December 2 at the Omar Methodist Church with the Reverend Mark Pierce,
Pastor, presiding. Florence is buried in the Omar Cemetery.
