David John Schryver was born in 1951 in
Watertown (Jefferson County) NY.
He was the only child of Donald Everett
Schryver and Emily Lavinia Kelley Schryver.
David graduated from the Watertown High School
with a regents diploma in 1969. He spent the next two years at the
Jefferson Community College where he received an AAS in Mathematics and
Science in May 1971. He then transferred to the Oswego State
University in Oswego, NY where he received a BS in Secondary Mathematics
Education in May 1973.
He became a high school
math teacher at the Edwards Central School in St. Lawrence County, northern New
York in 1973. He subsequently went into public school
administration and obtained the degrees of Master of Education (MEd) and
Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAS), both from the St. Lawrence
University in Canton NY. He served as assistant principal from
1979 until February 1985. At that time he was appointed as Interim
Superintendent of Schools. At the beginning of the next school
year, he left administration and returned to the classroom. In
1986, Edwards merged with an adjoining district and became the
Edwards-Knox Central School. He retired from there in 2006 after
teaching for 33 years.
Over the years, he has also pursued other employment
areas. He has worked as a disk jockey at several Watertown radio
stations. He was at WATN AM in 1977, WNCQ FM (Big Q Country) from
1978 to 1982 and at WCIZ FM, Z93 from 2004 to the present. He
has done free lance consulting in the area of computer education for
teachers and business groups and has also taught part-time in various
St. Lawrence County colleges. For many years, he has operated his
own Web Site Design service, Fourth

Marcia Anne Davis was born in
1957 in Gouverneur, St. Lawrence County, New
York. She is the daughter of Eugene L. and Marjorie Hurley
Davis.
She graduated from the
Edwards Central School with a regents diploma in 1975 and obtained both a BA in Elementary
Education and a MA in Reading Education from the State University of New
York at Potsdam.
She was a reading specialist
at the Gouverneur Central
School District in northern New York from 1982 until her retirement in
2012.

They were married on January 7, 1978. They resided in
Edwards, St. Lawrence County, New York, from January 14, 1978 until 2012.
This home
was purchased from Marcia's maternal grandmother. She had owned it
35 years at that point. In 2004, they bought the Schryver
family cottage on Pillar Point. At that point, it had been in
the family for 65 years. It was a summer residence until 2012,
when an addition was built and it became their year-round home. They have three (3) children.
