Ruth Adelia Schryver was born in Omar, Jefferson
County, New York, on 13 September
1896. She was the third child and first daughter of Frank M.
and Sara Jane Baltz Schryver.
She attended Omar schools and graduated from the
Clayton High School and Buffalo State Teachers' College. She
taught in Elkhart, Indiana, Omar and Fishers Landing, then in Geneva,
New York for 33 years.
She died on Wednesday, April 3, 1996 at the age of
99. At that time, she was at the Samaritan-Keep Nursing Home where
she had been a resident since December 28, 1988. A memorial
service was conducted at 2 PM on Friday, April 5. It was held at
the Omar Methodist Church and was presided by the Reverend Thana M.
Kibbe, Pastor. Ruth is buried in the Omar Cemetery.

had no children.
